Kendrick Christie is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, and is an Assurance and Advisory Partner in Grant Thornton Bahamas, a firm within an international network of accounting and consulting firms ranked in the top 6 worldwide. He is the Immediate Past President of The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA), and serves currently as Treasurer of the Bahamas Turks and Caicos Islands District of The Methodist Church of the Caribbean and Americas. He is a member of the Task Force charged with enacting pension plan legislation in The Bahamas. His presentations and articles have included “Accountants as Gatekeepers” “Fraud and the Recession”, and “Corporate Governance and the Board of Directors”. In a historic move, Grant Thornton recently conducted the International Financial Reporting Standards Technical Update for BICA at Accountants Week November 2008. Mr. Christie attended the College of The Bahamas receiving the Arthur Young Award, and the University of South Carolina. He is a life member and Past President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, and is a member of Rhodes Memorial Methodist Church. He is married to Cynthia Christie formerly Coleman and they have one child , Kamari Jordan.
